Apple announced that it will resume sales of the old iPhone that was previously banned in Germany, but only on models with Qualcomm chips, including models iPhone7 and iPhone8. At present, Apple and Qualcomm are making a "patent war" in the world.
In a statement to the Observer Network, Apple said, "In order to ensure that all iPhone models can be offered to German users again, we have no choice but to stop using Intel chips in Germany and supply phones with Qualcomm chips."
The statement said, "Qualcomm is eliminating competition through various possible ways, hurting consumers and stifling industry innovation. Qualcomm is trying to succumb to their blackmail requirements by ban on Apple products. In many cases, They use patents purchased or patents that are completely unrelated to their cellular technology to attack Apple and other industry players."
“We are committed to innovation as always, and will continue to fight for the right things,” the company added.
At the end of last year, the Munich District Court of Germany granted Qualcomm a ban on Apple, banned from selling the iPhone that used Intel chips and another supplier Qorvo parts in Germany.
The judge ruled that a phone with a combination of Intel and vendor Qorvo chips infringed Qualcomm's patent around the so-called "envelope tracking", a feature that allows the phone to conserve battery power when sending and receiving wireless signals.
