Iran said Tuesday that the US sanctions against Iran will bring serious consequences to the world order. The US sanctions against Iran's crude oil exports will come into effect in a few days.
After the U.S. withdrew from the 2015 Iranian nuclear agreement, sanctions against Iran's foreign exchange trading, metals and automotive industries were restarted in August.
U.S. President Trump is seeking to reduce Iranian crude oil exports to zero, and new U.S. sanctions against Iranian banking and energy industries will come into effect November 5.
"Unfortunately, a country that breaks the law (the United States) seeks to punish a law-abiding country (Iran)... which has serious consequences for world order," Iran's Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif as saying.
However, Zariff added, "Americans have not yet achieved their goal by imposing illegal sanctions on Iran."
Iran says it has fully complied with the nuclear agreement and its commitment has been repeatedly confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Trump complained that the nuclear deal Obama approved did not cover Iran's ballistic missiles, nor did it cover Iran's role in the regional war, and what would happen after it expired in 225.
"The international community has rebelled against US sanctions," Zarif said. The foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan held three meetings.
