      U.S. Senators said Monday that the Trump administration's briefing did not change its views on the need to overthrow Saudi Arabia's murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and its actions in the Yemeni war, and predicted that the Senate would vote on whether to end U.S. participation in Yemen as soon as possible next week.
State Department and Defense Department officials met behind closed doors Monday with members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to discuss Yemen, and Saudi Arabia, which has been in Congress for months, protested strongly.
"I don't think they will win any hearts and minds," Democratic Senator Chris Murphy told reporters as he left the briefing.
Critics in Riyadh, including Republicans and Democrats of President Donald Trump, have attacked a Saudi-led coalition and launched an air strike against high civilian casualties during Yemen's civil war.
