The unusual move by the British Parliament to seize a day's control of the Parliament's delisting agenda from the government is to find a way to break the deadlock. Earlier, British Prime Minister Theresa May's agreement to leave Europe was once again rejected by Parliament.
It has been nearly three years since the British referendum decided to leave Europe in 2016, and four days later is the original date of leaving Europe, but it is still unclear how, when or even whether Britain will leave the EU. Britain's Parliament and the whole country still have serious differences in their views on the break-away from Europe.
The vote highlighted the extent to which Teresa May lost her authority in the minds of MPs and government ministers, although she said the government would not be bound by the so-called symbolic vote.
"The government will continue to call for pragmatism to... Any options under consideration must be realized in consultation with the EU," said a spokesman for the UK's withdrawal ministry.
