Guo Taiming's first relaxed candidacy for president

      Guo Taiming, chairman of Taiwan's Hon Hai (2317.TW), the world's leading electronic contractor, relaxed his intention to participate in the 2020 presidential election for the first time on Tuesday. It will be decided whether to run or not in these two days. According to company sources, Mr. Guo will go to Longhua factory in Hon Hai Shenzhen on Wednesday with senior executives, which means that he may announce whether to run for president as soon as possible later today.
Guo Taiming told reporters on the sidelines of the 2009 India-Pacific Security Dialogue Forum this morning that if he decides to run for president these two days, he will go through the process of primary election, and if he wants to participate in the primary election of the Kuomintang, he will go through the normal process and will never accept the call-up. He hopes to make a decision these days and do things for young people.
Guo Taiming just told Reuters on Monday that the future is basically towards retirement and will retire to the second line this year. As for Hon Hai's new directors list, which will be released in April-May, the future will strengthen directors'participation in Hon Hai's operations and minimize his personal color.
