The Sino-US trade dispute escalated on Friday, with the US raising import tariffs on 200 billion Chinese goods. Earlier, U.S. President Trump said that China's commitment to months of negotiations between the two sides had retreated and "undermined the agreement."
Kudrow, the White House economic adviser, said on Fox News Sunday that China must agree to "extremely strong" enforcement provisions in order to reach a final agreement, saying that the key issue was China's unwillingness to incorporate what had been negotiated into the legal amendments. Kudrow said that during the U.S. -China negotiations, the U.S. tariffs will continue to be implemented.
