A senior executive at Huawei Technologies Ltd., a Chinese telecom equipment giant, said Thursday that the company was preparing for the launch of the Hongmeng operating system to replace Android in the United States.
Andrew Williamson, Vice President of Huawei's Office of Public and Government Affairs, said in an interview that Huawei would "presumably" strive to register trademarks for Hongmeng. He said that China may already have more than one million devices using the Hongmeng system.
