Trump said trade agreements need to be tilted in favor of the U.S.

      The U.S. President said Monday that trade talks with China are ongoing and that any agreement needs to be tilted in a way that is in the interest of the United States.
Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping met during the Group of 20 (G20) summit in Japan on Saturday and agreed to restart trade negotiations. The last round of talks between the two countries broke down in May.
Trump told reporters Monday that U.S. and Chinese negotiators are currently "having a lot of telephone conversations, but they are also meeting. The talks have basically begun.
"I think we have a good chance of reaching an agreement," Trump said.
He said he expected China's consultative position to be closer to that of the United States. Trade negotiations between the two countries broke down in May, and the United States accused China of withdrawing its reform commitments.
Trump said that on trade issues, China has been taking advantage of the United States for "many years".
"Consequently, it is clear that an agreement cannot be a reciprocal one. The agreement must be in our favor to some extent, "Trump said.
