Northwest China is warming and humidifying

The Xinhua News Agency report mentioned that since 1961, the Northwest has been warming up and most of the precipitation has increased. After 2000, the warming and humidification became more significant.

Take Gansu as an example. From 1961 to 2015, the average temperature rose by 0.29 degrees Celsius every 10 years. The precipitation varies from east to west. The precipitation in Hexi Corridor increases by 4 mm to 12 mm every 10 years. In 2018, the average temperature of Gansu Province was 0.7 degrees Celsius higher than that of the year round, and the average precipitation was 27.7% higher than that of the year round.
Research by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other institutions shows that the increase of precipitation is particularly significant in the central and western regions of Northwest China, such as most of Xinjiang, Qilian Mountains, Hexi Corridor and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. However, in the eastern part of Northwest China, the increase of precipitation is not obvious, and some areas even slightly decreased.
In addition, glacier melting water, River runoff, lake water level rise and other phenomena also occur in most of Northwest China.
Why is that?
Xinhua News Agency quoted a study by the Chinese Academy of Sciences as saying that the intensification of the water cycle driven by global warming may be the root cause of the warming and humidifying climate in Northwest China.
For the northwest, water vapor comes mainly from the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, Ding Yihui said. As the Arctic warms, water vapor from the Arctic Ocean also increases. Under the action of airflow, water vapor in the three places concentrated to the northwest, water vapor transportation was strengthened, and precipitation in the Northwest increased.
This more or less explains one of my doubts.
Because friends who have been to the northwest say that in recent years, in many areas such as Yan'an, the original loess slopes have turned green, which is unexpected.
Of course, there are some factors in the policy of returning farmland to forestry, but is that the only one?
Now there may be an answer.
The precipitation in Northwest China has obviously increased, and the weather has warmed up. If this change can continue, Northwest China is really no longer a cold and arid Northwest China.
