Sammy Wilson, a spokesman for the Northern Ireland Democratic League Party (DUP), said the government would have a better chance if Prime Minister Johnson's exit agreement was not dropped, and DUP, which supports Johnson in the government, would lobby other members to turn around.
Wilson told BBC radio that 10 members of the party would vote against a vote at a special session of Parliament on Saturday.
"We will encourage other members to vote against it because we think it will indeed affect the integrity of the UK, further trigger nationalist sentiment in Scotland and at the same time be detrimental to the economy of Northern Ireland," he said.
"Tomorrow's veto is not the end. In fact, it may open up possibilities for the government."
