Russia on Sunday said it had thwarted a planned terrorist attack allegedly to be carried out in St. Petersburg, thanks to a hint from Washington. Russian President Vladimir Putin once again expressed his personal thanks to us president trump.
Russian news agency quoted the Russian federal security service as saying that thanks to information provided by the United States, two Russians were arrested on December 27 on suspicion of plotting an attack during the New Year celebration in St. Petersburg.
The Kremlin said Mr. Putin thanked trump Sunday by phone for the tips from the U.S. special sector, but did not provide more details.
Putin and trump agreed to continue bilateral cooperation to combat terrorism, the Kremlin statement said Sunday.
