The eastern German border city of gellitz recently launched a one month free accommodation plan, hoping to find a solution to reverse the decline in the city's population, the European Associated Press reported Thursday.
According to reports, golitz is located in the eastern end of Saxony, the sixth largest city in Saxony. The city has an old urban area that has not been destroyed by the war and is ancient, attracting 140000 tourists every year.
Among many famous films in the world, there have been many films filmed in gellitz, including the drama "reading from life and death" directed by Stephen dardley in 2008, the anti war film "book thief", and the comedy drama "Budapest Hotel" CO produced by the United States and Germany in 2014.
Gellitz is also one of the German cities with low wages and the highest voter ratio on the far right. However, in recent years, the local government has been trying to curb population decline and restore urban vitality.
