Novel coronavirus, a more than 50 year old man who failed to confirm the infection of the new coronavirus, was contacted by the first confirmed infection in Hokkaido, Japan's media reported. On the 17 th, the Japanese government announced that the infection route was unknown.
According to the news released, the man was a self-employed man and did not go overseas or out of the way for two weeks before symptoms occurred. There were at least 43 close contacts such as family members and colleagues, among whom 16 were suspected of infection, and the results were negative.

The man confirmed the infection on the 14th and is currently using an artificial ventilator in the intensive care unit (ICU). The Hokkaido Government said it was "seriously ill" but said it was conscious. It also revealed that the man had no underlying disease.
