The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a new coronavirus test reagent produced by Roche, a Swiss drug maker, in an urgent effort to improve screening capabilities in the United States to help contain the growing epidemic, Beijing time reported Wednesday.
Roche said Friday that the reagent can provide results in three and a half hours, with a maximum of 4128 results in 24 hours.
FDA's emergency use authorization allows the reagent to be marketed in the United States and other markets that receive CE certification marks.
