"The DPP authorities used the virus indiscriminately to seek independence, attacked who and its officials vigorously, and encouraged racist propaganda with the green Internet army," it said. "We strongly condemn that."
Green is the party color of the DPP. China believes the DPP is seeking formal independence for Taiwan, but President Tsai says they are already an independent country called the Republic of China.
In response, the Mainland Affairs Committee of Taiwan's mainland China policy making Committee said that China should "stop using who to put pressure on us and smear us politically".
