India launched the red carpet Wednesday in Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, trying to build diplomatic support for Pakistan after a radical attack in the disputed Kashmir region.
The Crown Prince was warmly welcomed in Pakistan, where the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding worth about $20 billion to help support Pakistan's economy.
But the Kashmir attack could overshadow India's trip as New Delhi tries to strengthen its support for Pakistan. Officials said India would forcibly raise the issue of cross-border terrorism in negotiations with the Saudi delegation later that day.
Pakistan stated that it was merely providing diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination.
