Iranian President Ruhani told French President Mark Long by telephone Tuesday that Iran had no intention of fighting against the United States, according to the Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA).
But Ruhani told Marklon that if the United States violated Iranian airspace again, it would be counterattacked. Iranian officials insisted last week that a U.S. drone flew into Iranian airspace.
"If Americans want to violate Iran's waters or airspace again, the Iranian armed forces have a responsibility to confront them, and they will have a decisive conflict," Ruhani said.
According to the Iranian Student News Agency, Ruhani also told Marklong that Iran would not renegotiate its nuclear agreement in 2015.
