U.S. Treasury Secretary Nuchin told reporters Monday that he expects to hold another telephone conversation with Chinese officials this week as part of the resumption of trade agreement negotiations.
Last month, US President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping reached an agreement on a year-long truce in trade disputes between the world's two largest economies.
Nuchin and U.S. Trade Representative Lethizer spoke to Chinese trade officials last week by telephone, but did not disclose the details of the expected face-to-face talks. "If we can make significant progress, I think we will probably go to China later," Nuchin told reporters at the White House.
