Huawei negotiates with US companies on authorizing its 5g platform

      Huawei, a Chinese telecoms equipment giant blacklisted by the US, told Reuters on Friday that it was in early talks with some US telecom companies about authorizing Huawei's 5g network technology to them.
Vincent Pang, senior vice president and director of Huawei, said that some companies have expressed interest in long-term agreements or one-time transfers, but did not disclose the company's name or number.
"There are some companies talking to us now, but there is still a long way to go to really finalize things," Pang said during a visit to Washington this week. "They have shown interest," he added, adding that the consultation was only a few weeks in progress and did not reach the level of detail.
