According to documents submitted by Apple (AAPL. O) to the office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), the company asked the trump government to exempt duties on Apple watch, IMAC computers, iPhone parts and other consumer goods made in China.
Apple on Thursday asked for exemption from tariffs on 11 products, including homepod speakers, parts used to repair iPhones, iPhone smart battery cases, airpods and other products. The public can submit comments on these requests by November 14.
Apple told USTR that these products are consumer electronics, "not strategically important, and have nothing to do with" made in China 2025 "or other Chinese industrial plans."
