U.S. President trump predicted in his annual budget draft that the U.S. economy will grow by more than 3% in 2020, surpassing the predictions of other key departments in Washington, the mainstream analyst, foreign media reported Thursday.
According to a senior trump administration official, the White House will forecast that the U.S. economy will grow by 3.1% in 2020 and 3% next in 2021 in its budget submission for fiscal year 2021 on Monday local time. In the last two years of the decade, US economic growth will slow to 2.8%, in line with previous White House forecasts.
The official asked not to be named because Trump's budget has not yet been released.
The US media pointed out that this forecast even exceeded the current average forecast of mainstream economists, that is, GDP growth will slow down to 1.8% this year from 2.3% in 2019.
