Singaporeans worried about supply disruptions rushed to increase their food reserves on Tuesday after Singapore announced it would close its border to fight the spread of the coronavirus, although the government said there would be no shortage.
Malaysia will close its borders, restrict internal activities, close schools, universities and most businesses as its total number of coronavirus cases climbed to 553, the highest in Southeast Asia, Prime Minister Mahmoud Yassin announced on Monday.
Mushidin said the order will take effect on Wednesday for two weeks.
