Progress in Purchasing American Agricultural Products by Chinese Enterprises

At the same time, the U.S. announced that it would exempt 110 Chinese industrial products from tariffs, and expressed its willingness to push U.S. enterprises to continue supplying to relevant Chinese enterprises. Since July 19, some Chinese companies have made inquiries to American suppliers for new agricultural products such as soybeans, cotton, pork and sorghum, according to the report. According to market conditions, a batch of agricultural products have been purchased and traded. Relevant enterprises have applied for the exclusion of tariffs imposed on this part of imported agricultural products from the United States, and the Tariff Commission of the State Council will proceed in accordance with the procedures.
Next, Chinese enterprises will continue to make inquiries on the purchase of agricultural products such as soybeans, cotton, pork, sorghum, wheat, corn and dairy products in the United States, in accordance with the needs of the domestic market and the principle of marketization. As long as the price of agricultural products in the United States is reasonable and the quality is good, it is expected that there will be new purchases of agricultural products.
Relevant Chinese authorities said that the United States should take concrete measures to implement the relevant commitments of the United States and create favorable conditions for bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesman Gao Feng said on Thursday that the leaders of China-US economic and trade consultation will meet in Shanghai from July 30 to 31 to conduct consultation on the basis of equality and mutual respect. Recently, Chinese state-owned enterprises are willing to import agricultural products from the United States and purchase them independently. The resumption of consultation is the meeting between the two heads of state in Osaka. The important consensus is not directly related to trade procurement.
